It is mostly defaulted to filter on the Description field in the grid and is a Begins with filter. The grid filter criteria are given for each field in the grid. Just tap the grid header and select the way you want to filter. Wildcard does work. Microsoft has announced in a training video that they are going to work on this and might be more in tune with the Excel searches. Hopefully with the datatype dropdown which shows unique fields in strings and dates get this drill through feature.
Searching on dates is a bit of a hassle, so I would use some of the other filter options. The date is transformed automatically and when you open it back up again, it shows you the transformed date. This will have to be determined by selecting the right search parameter. The SysQueryRangeUtil works in this field, which is great. Clicking on this pulls out an interface where you can add fields that are not in the grid. Same function as the grid fields. Microsoft also said in the training video that I referred to earlier that they will be extending the features in this dialogue to contain some elements of the advanced filter options described below.
I will put money on the fact that at least a save function will be in here when the product is ready for release. The good thing is that the advanced filter dialogue still is available that we know and love from earlier versions is still available.CYCLONE AX 29" 2020 обзор горного велосипеда

If the ERP solution in question offers a sophisticated, user friendly, and versatile selection of ways to quickly and efficiently find information, it creates a competitive advantage to users.
Dynamics for Finance and Operations and all its predecessors were always known for the extended list of options available for users to search and filter through. Below you will find a selection of the most commonly used search and filter options that will help a user find the information they are looking for.
The search bar is located at the top of most list pages. Be sure to select the correct area to ensure the expected result. The search bar is the quickest and simplest way to find a record in a list page. It is also relatively limited in its complexity. You may also use the filter options by entering a complete or partial value in the search bar and adding instructions on how to apply that value as a filter.
You can do this by opening the drop down in the top right corner over the search bar and selecting the appropriate command. Once you have applied a filter to a column, a funnel icon will appear. The list of data you see is not the full list of data in this area. You will see a downward or upward pointing arrow if a sort has been applied to a column. If there is a need to apply multiple filters at the same time, users might decide to use a query by clicking the funnel icon located on the left side of the screen.
You may use these options and apply the same logic you did with the column header filters. A drop-down list appears with a list of fields that are available to be used as filters. Select the field from the drop-down list that you would like to add.
It will appear now as a filter field for you to add the filter criteria.

These include sorting, searching and filtering.
When you want to search for data, such as customer names, addresses, or product groups, you enter criteria. In search criteria you can use all the numbers and letters that you normally use in the specific field. In addition, you can use special symbols to further filter the results. There are two ways to search: using the Quick Filter or column filters. Sorting makes it easy for you to get a quick overview of your data. If you have many customers, for example, you can choose to sort them by Customer No.
To sort a list, you can either choose a column heading text to toggle between ascending and descending order, or choose the small downs arrow in the column heading, and then choose Ascending or Descending. You can add filters to all pages by using the Quick Filter. The Quick Filter is enabled by choosing the magnifier icon in the top right corner of a page. This filtering type is used for a fast entry of criteria.
The Quick Filter provides an easy access to filter data by entering plain text, but does also provide a lot of search criteria options. Depending on whether you enter plain text or text including symbols, the Quick Filter behaves differently. You cannot use a wildcard when filtering on enumeration fields, such as the Status field on sales orders.
To enter a filter for this type of field, you can enter the numeric value as a filtering parameter. For example, in the Status field on a sales order that has the values OpenReleasedPending Approvaland Pending Prepaymentuse the values 012and 3 to filter for these options. You can add a filter on one or more columns in a list. Filtering on columns is more flexible and enhanced than the Quick Filter. When you enter criteria, you can use all the numbers and letters that you can normally use in the field.
The following tables show the symbols which can be used in filters.
There may be instances where field values contain these symbols and you want to filter on them. To do this, you must include the filter expression that contains the symbol in quotation marks ''. But, what if we have item information in a related table?
We want to create a custom lookup in Dynamics AX that displays fields from a related table, and allows us to filter records by typing into a search box. Start by creating a regular custom lookup form. Instead of standard data sources, we will use a query as the data source for our form.
How to use advanced filter queries in AX 2012
This will allow us to more easily filter our results. Add a text box and a button above the grid; this will serve as our filter box.
The first problem we encounter is that a normal lookup form will disappear whenever a record is selected. We want to break this behavior and force the user to either click the select button or double click the desired record so that the user is able to use the filter box.
The canSelect variable is a flag that allows us to cancel the form closing that would normally happen when the user clicks on something. Now for the interesting part.
When the user types a value into the filter box, we want to filter the grid to show all records where any field starts with the entered value. To do this, we are going to use the addQueryFilter method on the query.
By applying a normal filter we are only able to AND the results. This can produce unexpected results when your tables are linked with an Outer join. The last thing to do is add a timer to automatically apply the filter 1 second after the user stops typing. Override the clicked method on the SearchValue button to apply the filter when it is clicked:. Finally, override the textChanged method to start the timer whenever the text box value changes:.

Now what I am trying to achieve is, when the user opens the form and they are not displayed, that the code enables them.
I saw something like calling this. Why do you want to do this? To please users? It is a part of training to have them familiar with the filtering options. It is not advised due to some object allocation limitations in Windows that can cause problems with the AX client. Also others have reported performance problems: community. I'd not advise to use that functionality widespread, especially not implementing it to show up for all users, only on a per-form basis.
Also I don't want to have the grid filter on each form so the option in AX's options are no option. Please note that if you have Filter by grid ticked on in the user options, this will disable the filter. I am unaware how to check the current status whether it is on or not.
The only thing is, when I open the form it enables the grid filters, next I close the form and re-open it, then the grid filters are gone. If I then close and open it up again, they are back. If you can help me a little bit further with the element. Please refer to this blog post shanexp. It literally says that you need to call task on canClose otherwise it won't filter form next time. The state of the grid filter is saved in the usage data SysLastValue.
